1.2 Continuing our training

Ok. you got all your tools and everything you need.
Now, lets use them.
If you have ever practiced any kind of physical excercise or if you are starting now, you will notice things that are going to happen to your body.
The very first day of practice you will feel that it is tiring and probably it is hard for you to breathe, also you will know immediately that you are not in shape and if you are doing aerobics for example you will see that you can not follow everybody and when everybody go to the right you go to the left or when everybody jumps up, you jump down.  All this is normal.

You will experience probably pretty much the same thing in your spiritual excercises.
The very first day of practice you will feel that it is tiring or boring, it will be hard for you to focus and concentrate and you will find out that you are not in shape.  If you go to mass or a service you will see that everybody will answer and that you probably don't even remember the prayers and you won't feel comfortable sitting and standing up or kneeling so many times as we do in mass, you won't even understand why you have to do it.  See? it is very much the same as physical excercise!

The second day your body will hurt and you will not want to continue doing it.
The second day of prayer you will think that one day was enough, that it is boring and that you don't need to pray every day.

The third day of physical excersices will be much better, you will start to feel that it doesn't hurt that much and that you feel good.  You will want to share with your friends that you started exercising  because you know it is healthy and somehow everybody wants to do it or needs to do it.

You will feel the same about praying.

After a month probably you will feel good and you will start really enjoying it, but..... you will get to the scale and will find out that instead of losing weight you gain weight.  How can this be? 

Well, there it comes what we told you at the very  beggining:  DO NOT BE AFRAID.

As you should know, the fat transforms into muscles and that is why you gained weight.

Dear friends, the same process happens in our spiritual life!

After a month praying you will like it, but you start question, you start to get deeper immersed into the things of God and you will probably start having doubts.  This is a great sign, it means that you are learning, it means that your fat is being transformed into muscles!  Congratulations!!
You have completed the first part of your training.....

PERFECT HARMONY - HUMILITY  
   
THE LEAF FALLS  
  The leaf falls
Rocked by the soft movement of the breeze
and the wind takes it away
goes up and down, dances.
I am that leaf, I belong to it
I dance in life
or I moove stealthly
in the twilight
and I exist, I perfectly live
in beautiful harmony.
 
STEPS IN GOD  
  One step after the other,
life dances like that
in perfect harmony,
under the stars infinite
by the hand of beauty itself we walk
being deaf of our eyes
