Dear beloved friends:

We want to help you get started.  Do not be discouraged.  This is a long, long process, but while you go through it you will see how much you learn.  It is fun, exciting, it is beautiful and a task.  This is just the beginning .

In order to continue with our second step we will use a similar image to the one St. Teresa of Avila used.
We will make it a little different though, for us who do not live in a cloister and who live in the 21st century.
So, our friends, lets think that our soul or ourselves are a house.  All of the houses are different.  
Some houses are made out of bricks.  This could mean that you probably have solid foundations which could be that you are use to prayer on a daily bases, you probably think about God often enough, you think or try to be a good person, etc.
Some other houses could be made out of chingles.  This could mean that you have a little weak foundations, which could be that you attend mass only once in a while, that you don't even think about God at all and so on.
Don't worry, these weakness or strengths are tools and you want to use them.  Always, our dear friends, think that everything you are should be to serve Our Lord better, even our weaknesses, or specially our weaknesses.
Later on we will discuss this subject more extensively.
Spirituality means that a person has a special relationship with God and in order to have this special relationship we must ask God to allow us to get to know him and in order to do that, we will invite him to our house, to be our guest.  This means that we will ask him to be inside of us, to abide in us.
To have such a guest we obviously will have to clean up the house, as sweeping, dusting, clean bathroms, closets, etc.
