We want to be simple, we don't want to get too complicated and make you feel that this is for intellectual people or complicated people, etc.  Jesus came specially for simple people (I thank you Father, because you gave this knowledge to simple people....)
So, why would we want to make it difficult?
In reality it is easy to explain who God is thinking about what he is not:

1. God can not be thought.  Why?  Because he is too, too big, he cannot fit in our minds, he is unthinkable.  It is like trying to imagine the universe completely.  How could we imagine the trillions of galaxies, which meantime contain trillions of stars?  it is unthinkable.  We can only think about a portion of it and from it, we can imagine the whole, but still it is simply impossible.
It is like trying to fill a glass with all the water of the ocean.  I think you got the idea. (at least we hope so and if you did not, please let us know!).

2. God can not be named.  Yes, we know, this is taoism, but don't get it wrong! God can not be named in reality.  This is not a taoism or christianism statement, this is simply truth.  Why? Because of the same reason he can not be thought.  Usually a name is to designate something in order to explain that thing in one word.  Like web-sites for example.  If you want to find something, you will search on internet through a name, then you will find results and you will have an idea of the answer to what you were looking for.  When you name anything you try to give an identity to it.  If you name a dog, you will do it according to his characteristics.  Well God has all characteristics.  God is not even all, he is more than that, he is the creator of all.  It is impossible, therefore to name somebody after his creation.  For example:  if I used clay and created a base.  Do you think I should be called "base"?.  Of course not! I am more than that.  And God is more than his creation, nevertheless, we can see or understand him a little bit through his creations.  For example:  That base that we were talking about, it might not be me, the one who created it, but it will probably have my characteristics somehow, because I will make it according to my own taste, the shape, the colours, the size, etc.  That is the reason why we can kind of "see God in everything".

The only way to know who God is to recognize that we are ignorant about him.

3. God can not be held, because he is infinite.  How could you hold something infinite. Would your arms be infinite also?

4. God can not be taught, because how can you teach something that you don't know? (laugh now, because we are teaching you about it!!)

She has but doesn't possess,
acts but doesn't expect.
When her work is done, she forgets it.
That is why it lasts forever"

There are so many more things that God is not, but in order to move on, we will allow you to think about it...

Now, just a little excercise about what God is:

God is Supreme knowledge and every knowledge that we may get, comes from him.  Why?  Because he created everything! that simple.

The verb is the first of all his gifts. because HE IS. God is the real existance, and it is him who gives existance to everything. He created everything, the person and nature.  He is the beginning and the measurement of the centuries; he has made the time, the substance because he is unlimited, he is not a product, but a producer, therefore, everything that exists, have its beginning in him, the essence of being belonges to him, because he is more than eternity, he is the creator of this dimension.

He is perfect harmony.  Let's think about the universe and life as a net all interconnected.  What ever happens to a part of the net will affect the all.  For example.  Let's think about internet.  If there would be a powerful virus in the net, then every computer would be affected.  If there is a new program to be implemented in the net, then everybody is benefited.
As we said before, he is not everything, but he is in everything, and everything has a purpose.  He would be then the indivisible unity of existance.


God is trinity.  He is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
